Enid Lillian Brine

Enid Lillian Brine age 94 of Halifax, N.S, passed away on June 25, 2023 at the QEII emergency department. Enid was born in Necum Teuch, N.S. She was the daughter of Everett and Leila Richardson.

Enid is survived by her two sons Steve Brine of Portapique Nova Scotia, and Murray Brine (wife Linda) of Halifax Nova Scotia. Her beloved 7 grandchildren and well as 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Gerald Brine and her brother Dewey Richardson.

Enid worked at continuing education as receptionist. In her early years she was a telephone operator. She was very involved in her church. She loved baking, she was famous for her raisin cookies and she was always making delicious pies. But her absolute love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. But her lifelong passion was gardening. She loved it. Her entire family learned to garden from her.

Enid was a very special person. She was loved by everyone who knew her. We will all miss her always.

We would like to thank the amazing team of people that helped Linda along the way so we could keep our mom at home. Dr. Hugh Matheson who made constant house calls for her and who was there for us when we needed him, thank you so much. A very special thank you to Christine Boutilier from Northwood Home Care, she was my partner on this journey. Also we would like to thank every single Home Care worker who ever took care of Enid, you were all wonderful and she loved each of you. Thank you to Occupational Thearpist Fiona and Physio Therapist Amy and the many VON staff, we are all forever in your dept. Lastly, thank you to Connor at Cruikshank's Funeral Home for all her support and help through such a very sad time.

Visitation at 1pm on July 7, 2023 and service at 2pm on July 7, 2023. Both will be held in Cruikshank's funeral home chapel with pastor Ken Parrett of New Testament Baptist Church. There will be a reception following the service at the family home, 73 Frederick Avenue, Halifax. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arthritis Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
