

LINDSTROM, Evelyn Marguerite— 82, of Halifax, passed away Sunday April 18, 2010, in the VG Site, QEII, surrounded by family and friends. She was born to the late David and Stella (Tynes) Thompson in East Preston. She was married to the late George John Lindstrom. Evelyn worked at the Tuberculosis Hospital and The Salvation Army in Halifax. She was a member of Brunswick Street United Church. Evelyn was always delighted to be surrounded by family and friends, and was an avid Blue Jays fan. She is survived by her children, Deborah Johnson, Raymond Lindstrom, Hilda Lindstrom, David Lindstrom (Michelle), George Lindstrom (Kelly), Wilfred Lindstrom (Yolanda), Stella Thomas (Jerome), Sharon Brown (Derrick); grandchildren, Aldon, Tara, Tracey, Shaundalea, Tremayne, Felcia, Craig, Tanya, Raycheal, GeAnne, Amber, Kevin, Emma, Luke, Mya, Kyree, Chanta, Torranda, Level, Shaylene, Maurice, Sharita and 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Joseph Tynes), Phyllis (Mrs. Vernon Braithwaite); brothers, William, Robert, Graham (Ardith), David, Vernon (Birley). She was predeceased by brothers, Horace Ross, Joseph and Wilfred Thompson, Theodore, George Jr., Leroy, and Donnie; sisters, Evelyn and Lillian Downey. Visitation will be held Wednesday April 21, in Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie St., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place 1 p.m. Thursday April 22, in Mulgrave Park Baptist Church, 5666 Sebastian St. Halifax. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Nova Scotia Cancer Society or Parker Street Food Bank.
