Jenny Evgenia Koutroulakis

Koutroulakis, Evgenia “Jenny” 88 Halifax. We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved sweet mother and grandmother “ Yiayia” passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 26,2013. Jenny was born in Sykea, Greece .She was a daughter of the late Ioannis and Maria Michelakos.

Jenny immigrated to Canada though Pier 21in 1958 with her two young children Demetre “Jimmy” and Eleni “Helen” to join her husband Leonidas “Louis” who had immigrated a year earlier. Jenny was a wonderful person with a kind and caring nature who always had a smile for everyone. Jenny was always there for her family and friends and loved nothing more than spending time with loved ones, sharing conversation over a delicious homemade Greek meal. We will miss her greatly. She is survived by her son Demetre (Loula), daughter Helen (Bill) Boenes, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brother Spiros( Kalliopi ) in Greece, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leonidas, sister Matina and brothers George and Vasilios. . We would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff of Northwood Center 4th floor for all their care and compassion shown to Jenny and family. Visitation will be held today 2-4 and 7-9 in Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Halifax. Funeral Service will be held 1:30 pm Friday March 1,2013 in St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 38 Purcell’s Cove Rd. Halifax Fr.Peter Maropoulos officiating .Interment in Fairview Cemetery.
