Joseph Vincent Sheppard

Sheppard, Joseph Vincent-75, of Lower Sackville, passed away on December 28, 2011, in the Halifax Infirmary QEII, with his family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Joseph and Hilda (O’Rourke) Sheppard, of Halifax. He had a 40 year career in the hardware business working for Robertson’s, Halliday’s and Piercey’s Building Supplies until 1995. At the time of his passing he was employed with Avis/Budget. Joseph is survived by children, Scott (Charlene) of Bridgewater; Jody Sampson (Michael) of Middle Sackville and Paul (Tabatha) of Elmsdale; sisters, Josephine Levy (Earl) and Sylvia Huett; brothers, Howard, Clarence (Dorothy) and Robert (Sheila); six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorena (Burke); sister, Alice and brothers, David and Paul. Visitation will be held on Friday in Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. Halifax from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service to take place on Saturday December 31, 2011 at 11am from St. Francis by the Lake, Lower Sackville, with Archdeacon Mark Kingsbury officiating. Burial to follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
