Len and I grew up together and went school together at Gorsebrook and later QEH. A good guy and a true free spirit. We have been out of touch for many years, but still saddened to hear of his passing. RIP my old friend.

Siempre, Gladys

Dear Jean, Sandra & Rod and your Families. We are so sorry for the untimely loss of Lennard, and hoping that the happier memories will give you solace.
May your family be spared further sorrow. Most sincerely,
Marlene Kronick, Elaine Bergen & Ken Babinchak, Scott Bergen & Marjorie Working-Bergen, and Myrna Bergen.

We were saddened to learn of Len's passing. We had many great conversations about growing garlic. Most of our garlic is descended from Len's seed stock. Like Len, our goal is always 4-clove bulbs.

I first met Lennie around the mid 70's, I was riding my pony up the road when I saw this guy. Looking at the time what my parents would of called a hippie. We had a great Chat and I walked my pony up to Millville with him as he walked along. He was heading over to where the Zoo is today, at that time across from my Grandfather's home. When he reached the Millville Bridge, we departed ways. I made a friend that day and every time I saw Lennie throughout the years we always had a nice chat.
RIP Lennie

Our sincere condolences from Lipsman's family.

We are grieving with you on the passing of Lenny and will always cherish the good memories of the time we spent together.

From all the Isaacs family

My sincerest condolences at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear about Lennard. I have great memories of the times we spent together growing up in Halifax and at Camp Kadimah. We were quite close when we were young. I moved to Toronto and we last touch for a long time. However, we had a few nice chats in the last few years by phone, including a nice long talk this past August. Despite battling stage 4 cancer at the time, Lennard was in good spirits. He always had interesting things to tell me and he knew a lot, about so many things. I learned a lot from him . He was a sincere, nice guy. I have been thinking a lot about Lennard since I heard the sad news. My thoughts are with all of his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him well. Condolences to all.

Lenny was a great friend for a very long time. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers for Edna and thier children and the rest of his family.

The Garlic King will be missed and our running joke was him calling up saying this is the Garlic Police and you need to do this or that to your garlic. I know he will always be watching.

Dear Edna and Shira,
In 1969 Halifax's Mayor, Lennie welcomed this Montrealer to Halifax & Dal. He was my soul 'Kid Brother' - always full of Fun & Adventure. He introduced me to the 'Tribe', and was my daily anchor of Joy & Happiness. My heart is with you at your time of loss.

Dear Edna and family,
We were heartbroken to hear of Lenny’s passing. He was a true friend and car lover. We spent many hours working on our cars.
He especially loved the pies Laurel made and would enjoy our eggnog.
Even though we has moved to Ottawa we spoke regularly. I will miss that.
You are all in our thoughts.
Gary and Laurel Grant

Dear Lennard may you rest in peace. We had no chance to meet but we have the luck to dearly love Shira as daughter-in-love. A gift for which we thank you. We are close to Shira and Edna.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Leonard. We will surely miss him and his relaxed demeanour. Loved having him visit Hali Deli, not to mention leaving us with his fabulous garlic!

Sybil and Victor Fineberg

I knew Lennie for many years. He was the go to guy if you wanted info on garlic production. Always helpful and sharing.

The Garlic King will be missed by Todd and Sonja

To the family of Lennie LeVine -

The sack Lennie delivered to us before Christmas every year was not
full of toys but of bundles of his wonderful garlic. Our clients always
hoped they would not be forgotten the following year as the bulbs he
specially cut and tied were so appreciated by all.

The last photo online shows a man out(standing) in his field - and he was!

We extend sincere sympathy to you.

Lennue's beehive of activity across the road will be missed. We always knew he was here from the city when we could hear the MG start up and travel up and down the road frequently.
He was passionate about his garlic and his beautiful gardens and the good life he had. Reared on the Fundy Bay.
Sending deepest condolences
Cathy, Rick, Amelia and Renee

Len and I were at QEH together back in the 60’s. I can always remember his laugh and great smile. I send my deepest condolences to his family at this sad time. Rest In Peace.
