It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lorraine Margaret (Seward) Preece on Monday, March 17, 2014. She was born in Halifax on November 11, 1918, to the late Frank and Sadie Seward.
She is survived by her sister, Vivian MacGillivary; sons, David (Darlene) and John; daughters, Terry Sayer (Dick); Lorraine Butler (Pepper); Dawn Cullen (Larry); eight granddaughters; twelve great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cyril George Preece; her brothers, Arthur, David, and John; sister, Maria Shelley.
Visitation will take place in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street Sunday, March 23 from 2 – 4 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10 a.m.
