In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Marguerite Joyce Gray, who passed away; age 88 at home on August 6, 2025. Born in Digby, she was the daughter of Audrey (Barton) Symonds. Marg worked diligently to help support her family. Marg enjoyed cooking, bowling, attending sporting events and the occasional bingo trip. Most importantly she took pride in her children and grandchildren.
Marguerite was a long standing active adherent member of Cornwallis Street Baptist Church (New Horizons Baptist Church). Marg was active in the Social Committee and the Ladies Auxiliary. Marg was part of the group that walked around the commons. She was also active in Hope Blooms.
Marg was a devoted mother and had that ability to make each of her children feel special. She provided us with the blueprint to face life’s challenges with determination. Although Marg is no longer with us physically her spirit lives on in us.
Marg was a devoted and loving wife to Jimmie for over 70 years; he misses her and will miss her dearly.
Marguerite is survived by her loving husband Carl (Jimmie) Gray; son Derrick (Elizabeth), Truro, son Darcy, Dartmouth, son Kevin (Denise), Toronto, son Wayne (Cheri), Calgary and daughter Natalie, Dartmouth. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was also a sister to Gloria Hill Digby, Jenny (John) Cromwell Montreal, Carolyn Ekwulugo Calgary, Sheldon (Donna) Symonds Dartmouth.
Predeceased by her mother Audrey (Barton) Symonds, her son Ian Paul Gray and brothers Terry Symonds, Anthony Symonds and great granddaughter Brooklyn Gray.
Though our hearts are heavy we take comfort in knowing that she is not suffering anymore and there is a reunion taking place in heaven. Her spirit and memory will remain forever in our hearts.
