Marina Lois Chranofsky- Ellis

It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marina Lois Ellis-Chanofsky on December 16, 2025. Born August 13, 1954 in Halifax, N.S.

Marina (Mert) will be deeply missed by her mother Barbara Spicer (Windsor, N.S) and her greatest joys of her life her children Jimmy (Sarah), David, Corri-Lynn, and Sabrina (Derek), also her sisters Kim Ellis (Barrie), Deanna Flinn and her brother Jim Ellis and her niece Kait Mosher.

Marina had many grandchildren Baleigh, Montanna, Shawnee, Christian, Mitchell, Dylan, Nathan, Mackenzie, Isabella and Ethan. Also her two great-grandchildren Rohan and Kyzen.

Marina was predeceased by her partner Denny Dorrington, her father Ralph Ellis, and her nephew Kiel Mosher, her uncle Kenny White and grandmother Lois White.

Marina worked many years at Sears call center. Marina had so many joys in life, from crafting to shopping trips to Maine with her mom or friends shopping for Christmas which she just loved as she had such a love for Christmas itself. Cooking was what she liked and to have her family surrounded by her.

I know Marina would like to thank especially her two daughters, Corri-lynn who was there from the start and Sabrina, it never went unnoticed.

Marina will have a visitation at Cruikshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax on January 3rd from 6pm to 8pm.

Marina had the greatest soul and heart, She will be forever missed by all who knew her. A Special thanks to her Palliative team for everything they did for her. No more pain or suffering.
