Age 91, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026. Born on October 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leo S. and Louise (Phyllis) LaPierre.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Hodgson, and her only sibling, Doug LaPierre as well as many other family and friends.
Marjorie is survived by her niece Elizabeth Williams, Dartmouth and nephew Doug LaPierre, Halifax, her loving niece Karen Foote, her two special great-nieces, Jennifer (Trevor) Gouchie and Stephanie (Kenneth) AuCoin, and her honorary great-grandchildren, Benson, Mackenzie, Beckett and Ashton. She is also survived by her special friends who were like family, David Henderson, Pauline Whalen, and Dr. Charlene McDonough and Jeff Baxter.
Marjorie worked for many years at the Royal Bank and later went into real estate with her husband, Bob. She was a long-time member of the PC Party and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. She served as chair of the Camp Hill Board of Directors throughout the 1980s.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life at Cruikshank's Funeral Home 2666 Windsor St, Halifax on Friday September 25th at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow.
