Mary Christine Brown

Mary was born on December 24, 1935 in Nottingham, England, an early Christmas gift for parents Alice Elizabeth McDonald (Paull) and Ernest Wright.

Shortly after birth, Mary relocated to Canada where she would reside for the remainder of her days. In her early 20’s she met and married Donald R. Brown who was the love of her life for 48 years until his passing.

Mary was a long time employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Halifax. As with everything else in her life, Mary was dedicated and passionate about her chosen career until her retirement in 2000 after 30 years

Mary and Don were loving parents to daughter Karen Elizabeth and son Patrick. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Ky and Jessica Mckenna Brown.

She was predeceased in death by her Father Ernest, Mother Alice, husband Donald R. Brown, son Patrick Brown, brother Robert “Bobby” (Wright) and sister Ann (Chambers).

Mary is survived by the remaining love of her life her daughter Karen Elizabeth Brown, (Halifax) , brother Frank Wright (Nottingham, England), sisters Sheila Theresa Melanson (Clementsport, NS), Nancy Paull Tourigny ( Salt Lake City UT) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to friends Barb, Paul, Beth and Jane for all their help during Mary’s prolonged illness. May God bless all of you! To the Red Cross and VON personnel who provided excellent home care a heartfelt thank you. Lastly, the family would like to thank the staff of ward 8.2 Halifax Infirmary, especially Dr. Shetty and the nursing staff, for all the care and attention given to her over the past four years.

A memorial service will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home at 2666 Windsor St, Halifax NS on Friday June 30, 2017 at 1pm followed by a reception.
