Bruce-Ambrose (Parks), Mary Ella, 68 of Halifax passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 at home. Born in Amherst, NS she was the daughter of the late David E. Parks and Edith Jeffers Parks Newcombe. Educated in Amherst Mary was a graduate of the VG School of Nursing, Class of ’64. She nursed in Halifax and Toronto until the mid seventies. Following her nursing career, she returned to Amherst and later cared for her mother until 1995. She then moved to Halifax to reside with her sister Nancy. She is survived by her sisters Carol Parks, Belleville, ON; Nancy Parks, Halifax, NS; brother David Parks, Burnaby, BC, and her niece Jenna Parks-Thomas, Ottawa, ON. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert Bruce-Ambrose; stepfather Walter Newcombe. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in Amherst Cemetery.
