Nancy E. Scallion 21-Apr-43 to 11-Nov-18

Nancy (daughter of Mary and Nelson Rennie) passed away peacefully at Saint Vincent's Nursing Home. She will be sadly missed by her husband David, and her daughters Kelly and Lisa (Rich) Billard.

Nancy enjoyed ice skating as a child. She graduated at the top of her nursing class in 1967 where she made life long, cherished friendships. Nancy said that her greatest accomplishment was raising her daughters. She had a beautiful laugh and so it was fitting that she married a man with a wonderful sense of humour.

Nancy loved to sing and listen to music. She recognized that beauty lies in the simple things. She loved to watch the birds and sunsets at the cottage. Nancy spent the last four years at SVNH. Her family is so grateful for the excellent, loving care she received there. Her beautiful smile and loving eyes shone bright even through the fog of dementia, and they will continue to shine in our hearts.

Nancy did not wish for a service to be held. She can be honoured through acts of kindness and time spent in nature.

I was heartbroken for you Dave and the girls when I recently came across Nancy's obituary. I know that it was a long journey for both of you (Angus always kept me informed) but nevertheless I know it's still not easy. My prayers are with you and the rest of the family and as everyone says I hope the memories of all that time together will help all of you get through this. Take care and I hope we get the opportunity in the not too distant future to get together once again.

Dear David and family
We send our sympathy to you as you mourn the passing of Nancy. We remember her as a very friendly neighbour in Bldg A at Heatherwood Court, and especially our former social and song evenings in the
'Party Room' with Keith, Mel, Gloria and all the singers.
May your own memories help to ease the loss of her physical presence in your lives, and may her special light live on in your hearts.

Dave, Kelly & Lisa,

I wish I had magical words to ease your grief at this time; unfortunately, I don’t. I only can tell you how sorry I am over the loss of your wife Dave and to you Kelly, Lisa, for the loss of your dear mother. I always have been very fond of Nancy, her infectious laughter and her kind heart. Like so many, that have had the privilege to have known her, I will miss her. I can’t recall a day, I did not see her smile. May the sweet memories of her beautiful soul ease your pain. My sincere Condolences,
Monique Jawed

Dear Lisa and family,
I would like to express my sincerest condolences. It has been decades since we were in high school, but I still smile when I remember your mom accompanying us to our first concert at the Metro Centre (Thompson Twins), donning our cool stirrup pants that we got for Christmas that year.
I hope you, Kelly, and your father find peace and remember the wonderful times you had with your mom.
With deepest sympathy, Lillian (Majaess)

Dear David:

I was so sorry to see Nancy's obituary in today's paper. We had some great times together including a shopping trip to Bangor! Lots of fun lunches and dinners. Working with Nancy was also a pleasure! She was a consummate administrator.

With sincere sympathy to you and your daughters!
