Nancy Kathleen Sikorski – 57, died after a long struggle with liver illness on Saturday May 3, 2014 at the QEII Health Science Center, VG Site, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Mickey (Cooper) Woods. Nancy was passionate with regards to animal welfare and preservation, feeling kinship with all pet owners. A gifted vocalist and guitarist, she performed in the Toronto area before moving on to British Columbia where she stayed for twenty-five years, before returning to Halifax. She is survived by sister: Judy (Johan) Post, Bridgetown; niece Kelly (Brad) Trask Bedford; grand niece Jessica Trask; nephew: Michael (Shea) Collier, Whites Lake; Aunt Doris Timmins, Halifax; dearest friend Donald Colyer, Halifax and numerous cousins in Canada and the United States. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation. Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 16, 2014 at Cruikshanks Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
