O’Halloran, Patrick Peter, age 57, of Lower Sackville, passed away suddenly on August 25, 2014. Born in Halifax, he was the oldest son of Patrick Joseph and the late Gretchen (Knickle) O’Halloran. In his youth, “Patty” enjoyed both boxing and chess and those interests give an insight into how he took on challenges in life. Patty was a thinker, independent and low-key. He enjoyed a quiet lifestyle and found great joy in giving to others. With inspiring humility, Patty helped family, friends and strangers alike. He loved animals and often donated supplies and money to the SPCA, always anonymously. In Patty’s early career, he was a butcher and meat buyer for IGA and Bolands Ltd. He started up his own business, Cousin’s Flooring Accessories, and ran it successfully for 26 years until his retirement last year. He is survived by his wife Betty Ann (Briand); son Shawn (Trina Roache); brother Steven (Trish); sister Terri Paris (Marty Loppie); grandchildren Jesse and Grace O’Halloran and Danica Roache; several nieces and nephews.
