OBITUARY

(Pegi) Ann MacAdam

16 November, 1944 – 23 October, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home

On Saturday, October 23rd, we sadly lost our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, (Pegi) Ann MacAdam (nee Pattillo) after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David, as well as her children Beverley (Philip Tetlow), Rachel (James MacQueen), Dave (Laura MacAdam), Melissa (Jason Lawrence), and her honorary daughter, Dorothy Lane. She was devoted to her grandchildren –Norah, Abby (Toronto); Audrey, Stella (Toronto) and Lenore, Jane, Kate, Edmond, Ashley (Atlanta); as well as the many others who called her Grandma Ann. Ann is survived by her siblings Gay Pearson, Marylew Murray, Tom Pattillo, John Pattillo and Barb McLeod. She was predeceased by her parents T.S. Pattillo and Margaret Pearl (“Dee”) Pattillo. She was born in Truro in 1944, spent time in Toronto and then married and raised her family in Halifax.

She loved to entertain and welcomed everyone to the kitchen table on Vernon Street. From backyard cocktails to the Christmas Eve Open House, the more the merrier (this included any number of cats over the years). She also enjoyed co-hosting the annual Nova Scotia Supreme Court Judges spouses’ luncheons.

Ann was known for her gardening, pickling, and baking. She was an avid reader and was also an active bridge player with a wide range of friends, particularly her bridge ladies.

Ann and David travelled the world and especially enjoyed wintering in Hawaii. She volunteered over many years with the IWK Grace and the Halifax Figure Skating Club, including time as President of the club.

Ann’s wishes were for any donations to be directed to the Kids Help Line (kidshelpphone.ca) reflecting her love for children.

Mum so loved the springtime in Halifax and to ensure her grandchildren can attend, a celebration of life is being planned for Spring 2022.
