Sharon Ann MacDiarmid

MacDiarmid, Sharon Ann-61, of Halifax passed away February 12, 2011 at the QE II Victoria General with friends at her side. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Eva Purcell. Sharon was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart. She graduated from Saint Mary's University with her BA (1971) and BEd (1972). She taught for 8 years in elementary schools in Halifax. She then went on to begin her 24 year career at the Sacred Heart School of Halifax, as the beloved librarian. Sharon is survived her son Colin MacDiarmid, of Halifax and close friend Densie Gaudet. She will be fondly remembered by faculty, staff, students and past students of Sacred Heart School. Visitation will be held 6-8pm on Thursday February 17 in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, (902) 423-7295. Funeral Service will take place 10am Friday February 18, 2011 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bursary Fund at Sacred Heart School (902-422-4459) or the Canadian Cancer Society.
