FRASER, Sheila Marie – 81, Halifax, passed away peacefully in the QEII Health Sciences Centre – Halifax Infirmary on Sunday October 1, 2017. Born in Halifax, Sheila was the daughter of the late John and Rita (Roche) Beck. Sheila enjoyed genealogy research, having compiled an extensive family tree. She was an active member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Canadian Martyrs Church, Halifax. Married in 1960, she will be sadly missed by sons Terrance and Stephen; daughter Maureen (Brian) McLaughlin and beloved granddaughter Grace, all of Halifax; brother Donald Beck, Torbrook Mines, NS; close friends from childhood; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sheila was predeceased by her husband William Leo Fraser; brother Melvin Beck; and sister Marion Irving. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Canadian Martyrs Church, 1725 Oxford St, Halifax, at 10:30 am on Thursday Oct 5, 2017, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take place at a later date in Pictou, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
