

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Mae Paris, née Prevost, on Wednesday July 23 2013, surrounded by family at the QEII health Science Centre, Halifax. Born on July 8 1919, in New Port Station, Hants County she was the daughter of the late George and Stella (Paris) Prevost.
She was a kind hearted, strong willed woman, who devoted her life to caring for others and never put herself first.
She is survived by her children, Theaston (Carolyn) Prevost, Halifax; Tanya (Glenn Chipman) Paris, Montreal; grandchildren, Tatia, Theaston Jr, Sharles, Jeszika, Quarina, Miranda and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Marion Skinner, Maxene (Edward) Shepherd, Audrey Cromwell, Sharon (Sheriff Mohammed), and brothers Graham, Keith (Eva), Blayne and Tyrone Prevost. She is predeceased by her husband Percy Paris; brothers Curtis, Claude, Theodore and Eric.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 6-8 pm at Cruickshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street in Halifax. A memorial services celebrating Vera's life will be held Monday July 29 at Victoria Road United Baptist Church, 36 Victoria Rd. Dartmouth, at 1:00p.m. Rev. Beals, and Lic. Lawrence, officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 593 Sackville Dr. Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations to Victoria Rd Baptist, or the Cancer Society.
