Warren John Weeks

Weeks, Warren John of Halifax, NS passed away suddenly on August 2, 2026 at home. He was born 1946 in Halifax, NS and was the son of the late Thomas and Florence (Barrett) Weeks. He was the last surviving member of his family.

He was educated in Halifax at Ardmore School, Oxford Street School, and Saint Patrick’s High. A prominent figure in the Atlantic Provinces printing industry, his career spanned over four decades. He started his career working with Maritime Photo Engravers in Halifax. In 1976 he accepted the offer of a partnership in The Tribune Press Ltd. in Sackville, NB.

At The Tribune Press he was the president and the architect of modernization and expansion and went on to be a respected leading printer in Atlantic Canada. In addition, he was the founding president of T & W Holdings Limited with investments in printing, publishing, stationery supplier, residential and commercial real estate and development in Sackville, N B. He was very proud of building West Main Plaza and Charlotte Court in Sackville, NB.

Always a strong supporter of the printing industry, he was active as president and a director of the Atlantic Provinces Graphic Arts Association. In 1983 he became the first founding president of the NB Printing Industries Association. The Atlantic Printing Association honoured him in 2007 with the first Award in Excellence ever given out, for his outstanding contributions to the industry as both a leader and mentor.

Besides his business enterprises, he had a keen interest in politics and rendered dedicated service to the New Brunswick Liberal Party. A generous and thoughtful person, he was kind with a deep commitment to charity and the well being of his community.

Surviving are a niece, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as brothers Thomas and Gordon. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshank’s Funeral Home.
