McNAMARA, William P. - Passed away at Northwood Nursing Home on October 16, 2008. He courageously battled cancer over the past year. Born in Evanston Richmond county, he was the son of the late William James McNamara, Clara McNamara. In his younger years, he worked for the CNR Railroad Company and also worked for the Pulpmill in Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton. He was a member of the St. Francis Parish and was a member of the Halifax Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving his estranged wife Margaret Ryan; surviving children, Paul, Martin, Lawrence (wife Darlene), Christopher (Joanne Turner), Halifax; Jennie (Doug Boudreau) Arichat; Marsha (Werner Karch), Alberta; Alice (Tory Hemeon), Halifax; brothers and sisters, James, New Brunswick; Gerald, Herald, Michael, Halifax; Stella, Louuisdale; Ellen/Mrs Roy Hamcock, Winnipeg; Lorraine, Halifax; Hilda (William Bourqois), Halifax; Joan, Halifax. Also surviving many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children in infancy, and son Darrin, and brother Maurice. All donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
