

ORGAN, William Henry "Bill" - 79, Halifax, passed away April 29, 2008, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born on Burnt Islands, N.L., he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Hinks) Organ. He was the last surviving member of his family. Dad enjoyed our annual trips to the valley in the summer for strawberries and the fall for apples. A familiar sight to all the neighbourhood was Bill walking his golden retriever "Hannah". He was a resident of Fairview for 46 years and an active member of St. John's Anglican Parish. He was his grandchildren's number one fan, be it hockey, baseball, dance recitals or theatre productions. He is survived by daughters, Cindy (Bruce) Sampson Fleet, Cathie (Dave) LeBlanc, Halifax; son, Danny, Halifax; grandchildren, Craig, Joey, Melissa, and Jillian. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor (Bowes); sisters, Alma Riles, Hilda Roze, Clara Boam, Sinai Newton; brother, Job Organ. Visitation Friday, May 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie St. Funeral service in Cruikshank's Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Carson Baxter officiating.
