

King (Wertz), Deborah Ann age 65, of Trenton passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018. She was born in Hamilton, OH, the daughter of Don and Betty Wertz, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Robert King Jr; her son Michael (Tasha) King, her daughter Kelly (Kyle) Browning; four grandchildren: Kurt, Colin, Owen, and Olivia; and her brother Ed (Diane) Wertz of Columbus. She also had many special friends. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School and received her Master's from Miami University. Debbie was a particularly special person endowed with the gifts of patience, concern, and care for those she taught, for her friends, and her family. She spent a lifetime in service, devoted to her students and fellow teachers in the Edgewood School District where she taught 3rd & 4th grade for most of her tenure and was awarded teacher of the year. She was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Hamilton. Debbie was a kind and caring mother, involved with each of her kids throughout their youth and adulthood. She was the very best grandmother to four lucky children taking care to form incredibly special attachments with each grandchild. She enjoyed gardening, painting, going to Reds games and EHS football games. She held frequent joyous events with her family; birthdays, summers spent swimming and playing outside with her grandkids, and holidays filled with unbounded generosity of spirit, preparing her home to provide a special place to gather. A memorial service will be held July 13 at 11 o'clock at Park Avenue United Methodist Church 801 Park Ave, Hamilton, OH 45013 with a gathering hour prior to the service at the church that day. Debbie's family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Hamilton for their loving care. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Hamilton or Melanoma Know More in her memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ivey Funeral Home.
