News Death Notice

WEISS, Elaine D. (Hammond) Age 92, of Fairfield, passed away at 11:20 p.m. at Tri-County Extended Care, Monday, January 1, 2014. Elaine was born in Hamilton on August 20, 1921 the daughter of Alvis and Madeline (Mild) Jolly. She married Ralph W. Hammond in 1941 in Indiana, and he preceded her in death June 18, 1981. Elaine married Elmer G. Weiss on July 25, 1993 in Hamilton. She was employed by Singer Sewing, taught sewing for many years and retired as a seamstress from Dunlap's Men Clothing in 1996. Elaine was a member of First St. John United Church of Christ, a member of the Brush and Easel Club, an avid quilter and enjoyed working at church functions. She is survived by her husband Elmer Weiss, Fairfield; son Harold Hammond, Hamilton; daughter, Susan Hammond Ziegler, Leland, NC; a stepson, Russel (Charma) Weiss, and stepdaughter, Cheryl (Ron) Surber, all of Hamilton; brothers Gordan Jolly, Watchung, NJ and Norman Jolly, Hamilton; five grandchildren, Christa Foley, Marcella Boyles, Missy Hammond, Laura Kursman and Brad Ziegler and thirteen great grandchildren.
