

Eleonora Hanalora Frederika Clara (Takats) “Nana” Osterberger, age 90 of Hamilton, OH was lifted by the angels at her home on April 22, 2017. She was born on August 18, 1926 in Budapest, Hungary, the daughter of the late Bela and Margit (Wahl) Takats. She is the fourth descendent of Count Takats and is survived by her brother Miklos Takats in France.
Eleonora met the late William J. Osterberger in Frankfurt, Germany after WW II. On October 15, 1947, Eleonora married the love of her life “Bill” Osterberger at St. Lawrence Mission Church in New Miami and remained married for over 63 years until Bill’s death in December of 2010. “Nora” was well known locally and abroad for her baking talents which included her famous chocolate chip cookies and her beautifully decorated “Tortes” as well as her spunk. Nora served as President of the Seven Mile PTA as well as volunteered for Red Cross. She also was an enthusiastic volunteer for over 29 years at St. Stephen and St. Peter in Chains church Bingo. She along with her husband were devoted members of St. Peter in Chains Church and the Liberty Home Association of Hamilton.
Eleonora is survived by her two sons, Harry J. (Denise) Osterberger, William L. (Linda) Osterberger, two daughters, Denise L. (Tom) Moore, and Lynette A. (Steve) Beiser; nine loving grandchildren, Steven (Krista) Beiser, Angelika (Matthew) Mangino, Meghan Halsey, Reneé Osterberger, David (Michelle) Underwood, Jason (Rachel) Underwood, Adam (Lisa) Moore, Daniel (Melanie) Moore, and Andrew (Sara) Moore; and thirteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Since Eleonora requested cremation, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013 at 10:30am on Thursday, April 27, 2017 with Father Robert Muhlenkamp officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of mass. Inurnment will immediately follow at Butler County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eleonora’s name to St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice. Her family would like to thank Hospice of Cincinnati, Dr. Winters, Dr. Karnik and Dr. Gabrilovich for the loving care she received. Following the funeral, friends and Family are welcome to celebrate her life at her residence.
