Fred S. Steele

Age 91 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2015 at Westover Retirement Community. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on September 16, 1923 the son of the late Pete and Lillie (Swanner) Steele. On November 9, 1946 he married Cleta Blanton and she preceded him in death on August 21, 2001 after 54 years of marriage. Fred was a WWII Army Veteran who retired from Champion Paper after 45 years of service. He is survived by his two sons, Charles Steele and Dennis (Sherry) Steele; four grandchildren, Brent (Shelby) Steele, Nicole (Michael) Brinck, Alisha (Josh) Franks and Keri (Jason) Miller; four great grandsons; siblings, Logan (Gail) Steele, Dwight (Janice) Steele, Leona Gabbard and Sue (Jerry) Mistyurick, loyal friend, Mary Lou Sandlin and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister Pearl Dickman and brothers, Craig, Ed and Bob Steele; grandson Darren Steele and daughter-in-law, Bev Steele. Funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00am on Friday July 31, 2015 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 30, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
