Gordon E. Hill

Gordon E. Hill of Hamilton age 90 passed away on Monday January 9, 2017. He was born on October 26, 1926 in Somerville, OH the son of the late Forrest and Ray Belle (Vann) Hill. Mr. Hill was veteran of the United States Air Force in World War II and a member of the Cooties. He was also a 50 year member of the George Washington Masonic Lodge #17 and The Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Order of Eastern Star 568 and Fairfield VFW Post #1069. Gordon loved spending time fishing and gardening, but his passion was airplanes especially the B-29. On July 2, 1949 in Hamilton, he married the love of his life Lois Schmutzler. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of over 67 years Lois Hill; three children Deborah Hill, Tari Wolf, and Steven Hill; five grandchildren Michele, Amy, Jon, Andrew, and Jeff; five great grandchildren Nick, Kylie, Lauren, Seth, and Addy; and one goddaughter Karen Clendenin. He was also preceded in death by his godson Bruce Slade; one sister Lois Joy Hill and his Step mother Dorothy Hill. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Hartman and the wonderful caring staff at Hospice of Hamilton. Visitation will be 10:00AM- 12:00PM Friday January 13, 2017 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church 4601 Fairfield Ave. Fairfield, OH. A Masonic service will be conducted at 11:50AM Friday at the church, followed by the funeral ceremony at 12:00PM with Pastor Tammy Jo Reiser, officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors in Rose Hill Burial Park.
