Greig Ernest Sullivan

Greig Ernest Sullivan, age 85, of Fairfield Township, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was born in Cherokee, Iowa on October 2, 1940, to the union of Ernest D. Sullivan and Marjorie J. Tawney. Greig received a mechanical engineering degree with a specialty in design from San Jose State University. With those talents and skills, Greig worked with many notable companies, such as Procter and Gamble and Johnson & Johnson, to design and implement product lines well-known in today’s marketplace. He was also one of three inventors of an environmentally protective bilge water system for which he received a patent.

Greig enjoyed many passions in his lifetime, with family being the most important. He was the first one on the block to have a portable camcorder so that he could videotape every game of every sport that his four kids participated in, showcase numerous events and attractions around Cincinnati, and provide many memories to share. He also enjoyed golf and playing pool, hosting tournaments that drew participation from greats such as Willie Mosconi and Minnesota Fats. Football was another passion that Greig enjoyed, especially when it came to his favorite teams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Greig was proud of his Irish heritage, even making a “trip to the old country” with his wife several years ago. His favorite blessing was:

May the road rise up to meet you

May the wind be always at your back

May the sunshine warm upon your face;

the rains fall soft upon your fields

until we meet again.

…and may you be in Heaven long before the Devil knows you’re dead.

Greig is survived by his loving family; wife, Donna Sullivan (Burris);children, Sean Sullivan, Michael Sullivan(Melissa), Lorrie Stewart (Shawn), Randy Burris (Colleen); grandchildren, Derek Sullivan (Rebecca), Issabella Sullivan, Lilianna Sullivan, Nate Burris (Alissa), one great- grandchild, Michael Waldron, and one brother, Gary Sullivan (Pam).
