

Age 96 of Hamilton, passed away on Friday September 6, 2013 at the Woodlands of Hamilton. He was born in Holstebro, Denmark, to Knud Kristian and Else Marie (Andersen) Lauridsen. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 21 and became a naturalized US Citizen. He married Virginia May Johnston on January 20, 1940 in Hamilton, and became a member of Bethel Community Church. He loved flowers and trees. For most of his life in the US, he worked in landscape maintenance, first at Wayne Hill Nursery and later as an independent contractor. For the past year he was a beloved resident at The Woodlands of Hamilton. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, six sisters, his daughter-in-law Loretta Lauridsen, and in 2001 by his wife Virginia Lauridsen. He is survived by three children, Earl Benton Lauridsen with wife Laura, Mentor, Ohio, Lawrence Etlar Lauridsen, Hamilton, Ohio, and Jane Margaret (Lauridsen) Bowdle with husband David, Huntsville, Alabama; his long time companion Verne Augspurger; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, niece Marie Ann (Lauridsen) Knudsen, Hamilton, Ohio, and many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in Denmark and the US. Visitation will be held at 10 -11AM, and the funeral service at 11AM, on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Avenue, Hamilton, with Reverend William Bowdle officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karl’s memory to VITAS Hospice, 11500 Northlake Drive, Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
