

LaVerne Lingler (nee Barger), age 77, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024, surrounded by family at Kettering Health Hamilton Hospital. She was born on March 6, 1947, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Vince and Pauline (Turner) Barger. LaVerne graduated from Garfield High School in 1965. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Fairfield, Ohio. LaVerne retired from Northwest Local School District where she held positions in the Curriculum and Treasurer’s Offices. Her most rewarding position was as Struble Elementary Secretary – “Mrs. Lingler” was beloved by students, parents, and staff. After retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Panama City Beach, Florida, and spending time with her grandchildren. On September 12, 1986, she married the late Michael Lingler. LaVerne is survived by her children, Lisa (Jeff) Rouse of Elizabethtown, IN; Lori (Greg) Smith of Fairfield Township, OH; and Robert Titmus of Erlanger, KY. She fiercely loved her grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach) Taulbee, Nicole (TJ Wells-Hall) Bowman, Alexandra (Cardell Bonslater) Antrobus-Allgeier, Casey (Makenzie) Smith, Chloe Haeufle, James Titmus; and great-grandchildren, Ashton and Lillie Taulbee. Also surviving are her stepson, Charles (Louise) Lingler; and stepbrothers, Larry (Terri) Hymer and Brian (Karen) Hymer. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Shannon; brother, Vince Barger; stepmother, Marie Barger; and niece, Kelly Bowling. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013, with a Ceremony to follow at 6pm with Pastor Barry Wilson officiating. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later time. The family would like to thank the staff at Kettering Health Hamilton, especially the caring ICU nursing staff and Dr. David DiNuoscio, for their compassion and excellent care provided to Mom.
