Melvin Earl Smith

Melvin Earl Smith, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away on June 28, 2013. Melvin was born on June 4, 1925 in Oxford, Ohio to Raymond and Ruth (Imhoff) Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Seabee from 1943 – 1946. Melvin is survived by his daughters, Donna (Denny) Noggle, Becky (Sumner) Pingree, Connie (Mike) Friemering, Kimberly Smith (David Gamble), and Lori Million (Larry Kalmus); grandchildren, Jessica, Amy, Kurt, Adam, Erin, James, Lisa, Christopher and Amber; great-grandchildren, Tegan, Zachary, Jonathan, Victoria, Keondre, Samuel, Charles, Kelby and Katelynn. He is also survived by brothers, Charles (Delores) Smith and Dale (Jan) Smith; brother-in-law, Ralph Dowd; sister, Janet (Larry) Rohling; and sister-in-law, Genny Smith. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 3pm until 4pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Funeral Services will be held at 4pm on Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Darrell Messer officiating. Interment will follow at Springdale Cemetery with Military Honors. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Melvin’s name to the American Heart Association, 5211 Madison Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227.
