Robert M. "Bob" Barrett Sr.

Age 81 of Hamilton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday September 22, 2015 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born on June 15, 1934 in London, Kentucky, the son of the late Robert Willis and Mattie May (Burns) Barrett. Bob was a 1956 graduate of Miami University having received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. In 1996 after 40 years of service he retired from Champion Paper, having served in various managerial positions. Bob also served on the Board of Directors for Chaco Credit Union for 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mattie Lee (Smith) Barrett; six children, Vicky (Charles) Hauck, Teresa (Michael) Turney, Marsha (Scott) Lanum, Kimberly Barrett, Jennifer (Mark) Siefer and Robert M. (Jennifer) Barrett Jr.; eleven grandchildren, Lindsay (Zach) Schmidt, Amy Hauck, Colin Turney, Kristen Turney, Serena Lanum, Max Lanum, Garrett Siefer, Cameron Siefer, Mattie Siefer, Jake Barrett and Kailee Barrett; two great grandchildren, Victoria Schmidt and Henry Schmidt; two sisters, Thelma Onkst and Janice Rioux; Bob was also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Barrett. Funeral ceremony will be held at 1pm on Monday September 28, 2015 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, with Chaplain Marilyn Flege officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to service from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.
