Robert Jones, age 91 of Hamilton passed away on June 18, 2014 in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the home of his son. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky on July 25, 1922 the son of Charlie and Celia (Hasty) Jones. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 and was employed at Fox Paper Company for 42 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Franklin Street Baptist Church. In 1946 in Rossville, Georgia he married Virginia Payne, and she preceded him in death in 1989.

He is survived by three sons, Bill (Kathy) Jones of Warner Robins, Georgia, Jack (Cindy) Jones and Terry Jones, both of Hamilton; two sisters, Marie Hayes and Christine Rutherford, both of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Tammy, Tracey, Angela, Barbie, Shannon, Candy, Hannah, Holly, Jeremy, and Billy; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Bob Jones and Brenda Jones; a brother, Shelby Jones; two sisters, Sybil Sowder and Althealee Jones; and three grandsons, Chris, Aaron, and Michael.
