It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Adriana Vetrone (nee Giacomelli) on October 7, 2026 at the age of 98. Adriana was a devoted and loving wife to her beloved husband, the late Giuseppe Vetrone. Together they shared 50 beautiful years of marriage.
Adriana was the proud, loving and dedicated mother of Nick and Fay, Rosemary Jaskula, Joe and Brenda. Adored Nonna to Paul (Kelly), Nicholas, Laura, Jacob, Rachel (Lawson) and Michael. Precious Bisnonna to Lucas, Kensington, Kinza and Kayce.
She will be deeply missed by her cherished sister Evelina Gambioli, her dear brother-in-law Anthony and Nella Vetrone, her many nephews and nieces in Canada and Italy. Adriana was predeceased by her parents, Fabrizio and Maria Giacomelli, and her siblings: Primo, Cecilia, Flora, Arturo, Uliana, Romualdo and Vanda.
Adriana was born on April 14, 1928 in San Lorenzo in Campo, Pesaro-Urbino, Marche, Italy. She immigrated to Canada in 1949 with her dear brother, the late Romualdo. She worked at Dominion Glass, and later at Eaton’s.
Adriana was an excellent cook, baker, a skilled seamstress and gardener, but most of all, she was the heart of our family.
Adriana’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she leaves a legacy of unconditional love and support, strength, hard work and commitment. We will love her and miss her forever.
