Audrey McDonald

Audrey Leona Trimmer McDonald was the fifth of seven children born to Daniel Trimmer and Barbara Jane Halcrow. She was born on August 1, 1919 in Assiginack Township on the Manitoulin Island. She saw her Savior's face at the age of 91 on October 21, 2010. She married Walter McDonald in 1947; together they made their home in Hamilton and raised two daughters, Jane and JoAnn and a son, Michael. After being raised on the Manitoulin Island, she came to Hamilton to train as a nurse. She worked in that profession all of her life, including 20 years at Macassa Lodge prior to retiring. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, her daughter JoAnn (Kurt) Henle, son Michael (Robyn) McDonald, her grandsons Nikolas and Alexander (Brandy) Henle and Jordan and Justin McDonald, and her son-in-law, John Kaufmann. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh, courage in the face of adversity, amazing story telling, and exceptional spirit for life. May we too laugh and give and love as she did. Thank you, Audrey, for everything. A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery (section nine), Spring Gardens Rds., Burlington, on Tuesday October 26th, 2010 at 11:00am.
