Bernard Davern

1939-2025

Bernie Davern, 86, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on September 07 2025 , at Hamilton Extendicare.

He was born in Hamilton on June 15th 1939 to John and Leona. Bernie grew up in Hamilton.

After graduating from Cathedral, he went on to work several office jobs in Hamilton until he eventually ended up at the LCBO, where he retired from years later. In 1965 he married Edith Connor; together they built a loving home and raised their 2 children: Janet and Brenda.

Bernie will be remembered for his humor and helping many charities throughout the years. Bernie is survived by his wife, Edith Davern; his children, Janet Bedell (Duane) and Brenda Bedell (Kevin); and by his grandchildren, Cyrus, Somer (Nick) Brayden (Staci) and Kaylee (Tyler). He will be deeply missed by his sisters Rita (John), Claire and Joanne. He was preceded in death by his mother and father John and Leona Davern.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Luke's Roman Catholic Parish, 200 Mount Albion Rd Hamilton, on Monday September 15th at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Rd Burlington Ontario. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bernie's life.
