It is with profound sadness that the family of Calogera "Lena" Agro announces her passing on March 1st, 2013 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of Leonardo. He will be lost without her by his side. Precious mother to Carmen (Robert DeBenedictis) and Salvatore (Lucy). Forever in the hearts of her grandchildren Lenny, Bianca, Krystina and Alanna. Survived by sister Antionina, as well as brothers in Italy: Lilo, Gino and Pino Caravasso. Predeceased by parents Antonio and Carmelina, sister Rosetta and brother Santo. Many nieces and nephews are also left behind here and in Italy. Lena' s greatest passion was her grandchildren and cooking her family Sunday meals. Lena enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends Laura, Anna, Carmelina, Pina, and Maria, whether it be shopping for deals or celebrating birthdays at The Mandarin. Neighbours Tina and Pasquina, and friends Comare Greco, Felippa and Melina provided a great source of friendship and comfort. She loved them all like sisters.
Our sincerest gratitude goes to all the physicians entrusted to her care for the past years at Juravinski Hospital, especially Dr. Dath. There are not enough words to commend and thank the staff at Emmanuel House Hospice where she was treated with great compassion and dignity. As per the family request, donations may be made to Emmanuel House Hospice. Lastly, our family would like to thank Robert for his countless hours of accompanying Lena to her numerous doctor appointments and procedures. She loved him as if he were her own son.
Lena made the sun a little brighter, the sky a little bluer, and the world a little nicer.
