Catherine was born on December 8, 1948 to Clayton Clinton Cooper and Mary Ellen Cooper (née Leeder) in Woodstock, Ontario. She is predeceased by both her parents, brother Allen (Catherine), sister Rosemary and grandson Micah.
Catherine worked for a number of years at Rogers Cable in the planning department but her true calling was as a devoted stay-at-home mom. She spent countless hours volunteering at her children’s elementary school where she became affectionately known as “Mrs. T” by the students.
Catherine is survived by her husband James, daughter Lee-Anne, son Daniel (Kerri), grandchildren Abbegail (Bradley), Baden (Cassidy), Luke (Mya) and great-granddaughter Rebecca.
A deeply compassionate, strong and wise woman, Catherine’s love for her family and friends was immeasurable. She gained much joy from them and never wavered in her dedication and support. Known for her unique and infectious laugh, her constant whistling and her wonderful sense of humor, she had a way of lighting up any room she entered. The many beautiful memories Catherine created will be cherished forever by her family and friends. While the feeling of loss is tremendous, they can rest in the comfort of knowing that she has gone home to her Father. Her memory will live on in all their hearts until they are reunited in Heaven one day.
A private service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
