Reverend Charles Henry Rankin Dechert passed away peacefully April 2, 2025 at the age of 92. Survived by his loving wife Joyce (nee Radtke) married 61 years; three sons, three daughters-in-law and four grandchildren.
In 1957 Reverend Dechert started his life long service to Jesus Christ as Vicar at Zion Lutheran in Massey, Ontario. In 1958 he was ordained a Lutheran Minister in Pembroke, Ontario. It was here that he met his life long partner Joyce.
He served numerous parishes in northern Ontario; Rankin, Alice, Woito Station, Golden Lake, Silver Lake, Green Lake. In 1968, he was called to Faith Lutheran Hamilton, Ontario where he faithfully ministered for 30 years.
Upon retirement, he continued to minister at parishes in Toronto and Grimsby. Until his last breathe, he was a testament to his personal SaviourJesus.
The Lord fulfilled his promise to Charles and called him home.
