Born on April 29, 1939 in Cyprus, Chrystalla was the beloved daughter of the late Charalambos and Kleoniki Maratheftis (née Stylli). Chrystalla was predeceased by her devoted husband, Andreas Tsangaris, in 2017, and by her sister, Georgia Maratheftis (1940). She leaves behind her loving sons, Christakis, Charalambous, and George. Cherished sister of Andreas Maratheftis (Maria) and Suzanne Marah. She will also be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law George Tsangaridis (Mayda), her godson and nephew Andreas Ioannou, as well as many nieces, extended family members, and dear friends in both Cyprus and Canada.
Chrystalla worked for many years as a custom dressmaker, a profession she carried out with great skill and dedication. She will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, kindness, generosity, and unwavering hospitality. Her home was always open to family, friends, and anyone in need. She was deeply compassionate and genuinely cared for the well-being of others.
A devoted member of her faith community, Chrystalla served as a longtime past president of Panagia Greek Orthodox Church. She was also among one of the first women to sing in the church choir, where she faithfully dedicated 20+ years of service. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she attended church every Sunday with deep devotion.
