Danica Keglevich

Peacefully at Idlewyld Manor, Danica passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 in her 103rd year. Beloved mother of Mary Grubic (the late Branko, 2009) and mother-in-law of Donna Keglevich (the late Nick, 2009). Predeceased by her husband Peter (1959), step-son Peter (2008) and fourteen brothers and sisters. Cherished grandmother of Linda, Roger, Deanna (George), Joe (Kirsten), John (Linda), Janice and Lucy. She will be sadly missed by her many great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Jure and many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, Australia, Croatia and Slovenia. Danica worked at the Stelco cafeteria, Unsworth Greenhouses and later was a babysitter to her grandchildren. She was also a founding member of the Zumberak Society. The family wishes to thank the Idlewyld Manor Staff, especially in Creekside for the compassionate and loving care given to Danica during the past eleven years. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm with Vigil Prayers at 3pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 9:30 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Parkinson Foundation, CFU Lodge 954 Scholarship Fund or Holy Cross Croatian Church would be appreciated.
