We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Danute on February 17, 2017 in her 91st year. She leaves behind her beloved husband Motiejus and loving children Dalia and Arunas (Eleanor). She will be missed by her closest friends Stella and Alina, and many others with whom she enjoyed playing cards, travel, swimming and parties. Danute was an experienced seamstress and shared her oak bucket-made rye bread with many friends. She was an active parish member and an alto in the church choir. Thank you to the caring staff at Queens Garden, especially those who were able to make her smile. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to the Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East Hamilton on Wednesday, February 22nd from 5-8pm with Rosary at 7pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Lithuanian Parish, 58 Dundurn Street North, Hamilton on Thursday, February 23rd at 10am. If so desired, donations in Danute’s memory may be made to the Lithuanian Orphans Fund or the Alzheimer’s Society.
