David Smitten

He is survived by his loving wife Carol and children Robert Borycki and Sarah Borycki (Patrick Lawler). He was the proud Grandpa Dave of Audrina and Avery Borycki. Dear brother of Donna Papanicolaou (Dennis) and Nancy Shaw. Loved uncle of Euri Papanicolaou (Sarah Farrell, Emmett), Elisha Papanicolaou, Nicole and Christopher Shaw. Caring brother-in-law of Michael Malles and his family. He will also be lovingly remembered by many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Alice Smitten.

Dave graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1981 as a Professional Engineer. Over the years he worked at Conestoga College, Case IH, John Deere, and in the trucking business for Laidlaw and Ippolitto.

Dave was happiest fishing on his boat, snowmobiling, and was a diehard Maple Leafs fan but his happiest times were spending time with family and friends. Our dog Willow will greatly miss her dad.

The family wishes to thank the healthcare professionals that cared for Dave for their compassion and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday, July 2nd from 1 – 2 pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the Cresmount Chapel at 2 pm. Cremation will follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
