Edward Harvey Whetstone

After a brief battle with cancer, Ed passed away at 62 years old at Juravinski Hospital surrounded by his family on November 3, 2014. Beloved husband of Florence (DeLuca) for 40 years. He will be so sadly missed by his children Brent (Amanda) and Chris. And his ‘Cutie Pie’ his much loved and cherished granddaughter Katelyn. Eddie was brother of Lis, Michael (Marilyn), Margo, Mary Templeton (Jack), Phyllis Roung (Dave), Sally Pye, Matthew (Leanne), and brother-in-law to Della Stacey (Harley), Joanne, Robert (Lori). He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Harcourt and Patricia of Dundas, Ontario. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well. Ed was a very proud worker at Ford (Oakville Plant) for 35.4 years, and a Tiger-Cats Season Ticket Holder for half of his life. He will be missed by his many friends and especially neighbours on Hillside Avenue. Thanks to the caring staff at Juravinski Hospital for making Ed's transition comfortable. Friends will be received at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where a service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning November 7, 2014 at 11 o’clock. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in the memory of Ed Whetstone to the Canadian Cancer Society.
