

He is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter Anne (Kevin), granddaughter Katelyn and his nieces and nephews Carol Ziemann, Mark Ziemann, Heather Dayman (Drew) and Matthew Easter (Denise).
He is predeceased by his parents Edwin and Pearl and his sister Marilyn.
Edwin was a 3rd Generation Watchmaker, carrying on the family tradition of Pass Jewellers and Watchmakers that began in 1888 at 91 John Street South in Hamilton and continued in the same location until his retirement in 2007.
Edwin began his apprenticeship as a Watchmaker at the age of 17, and at the encouragement of this father, he travelled extensively in his youth journeying to England where he worked in London for a time earning his way to travel through France, Denmark and Switzerland before returning to begin his full time career as a Watchmaker with his father (Edwin Samuel) and grandfather (Edwin Kirby).
An avid skier until his mid 70’s, Edwin was a member of the Cedar Springs Ski Club, and a regular on Wednesdays and Sundays at the Chedoke Ski Hill.
Edwin will be remembered for his stories, love of conversation and his kindness.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, PSW’s and staff at Southlake Residental Care Village in Newmarket for their kindness and care to Edwin for the past few years as well to the healthcare team at St. Joseph’s Hospital for the amazing care and support they gave prior to the transition to Newmarket.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18th, 11am – 1pm with the service immediately following at Marlatt’s Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East, Hamilton. An interment will occur following the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grove Cemetery, 129 York Road, Dundas, ON.
