

Egon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lolita Willaschek (née Palmares), in March 2026, after 50 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to Inocencia Willaschek (Philip Lam) and a cherished Opa to Victoria and Tristan. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Marissa and Gunther.
Born on June 3, 1935 in Jasenitz, Germany, Egon was the son of Johann and Maria Willaschek. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends in Germany, the Philippines, and Canada who will fondly remember him.
Egon worked as a skilled carpenter for 35 years in Hamilton and Guelph, where he dedicated himself to the craft of furniture making. He will be remembered for his patience, quiet and gentle nature, warm smile, exceptional woodworking skills, and remarkable talent. His craftsmanship and dedication left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Juravinski Hospital, St. Peter’s Hospital, and The Wellington Retirement Home for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Egon throughout his final years.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, 50 Brucedale Avenue, on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will take place thereafter.
