Ellen Frances Rankin

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen Rankin on October 15th, 2024, in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Rankin for 61 years. Loving mother of Debbie (Len Ducker) and Robbie (Debbie). Cherished Grandmother of Matthew (Brigitte), Andrew (Julie), Graham, Jay (Tara) and Brittany (Shawn). Proud Great-Grandmother to Elodie, Arielle, Madyson and Jaxon.

Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Leonard (Stella), Irene (Slim), Violet (Art), Harvey (Bea) and Gord (Betty).

Ellen was a lifelong member of New Westminster Church. She served as an elder for several years and she was President of the Heather Circle where she helped organize many church events like Burns’ dinners, Strawberry Socials, Lawn sales and Christmas Bazaars.

Ellen will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends from New Westminster Church and her long-time neighbours.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Margaret’s Place Hospice in Dundas, or City Kidz Hamilton.

Visitation will be held at Marlatt funeral home (905-528-6303), 615 Main Street East, Hamilton, on Sunday, October 20th from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A second visitation will be held Monday October 21, from 10:00am-10:30am with a funeral service following in the Marlatt chapel at 10:30am. The family invites friends and relatives to join them for a lunch-in following the service. Interment will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens following.
