Elsa Bruce White

Elsa went to Nursing College in Edinburgh, Scotland and after moving to Canada with her husband Jim, worked at Mississauga Hospital. She absolutely loved being a nurse.

She was a very proud Scot, and along with her husband Jim bought a cottage in Longformacus, Scotland and took Jim and Jayne every summer as they grew up so they would experience Scotland and love it as she did.

Elsa was an active member at Graceview Presbyterian Church in Etobicoke.

She loved to sing and sang with several choirs including the Centennial Choir and the Graceview Church choir. She loved dogs and always had one, for she believed a house was not a home without a dog in it.

She lost her husband and soulmate James Kemp White 9 years ago just after the birth of her first grandchild. Elsa is survived by her sister-in-law Helen White (Burlington, Ontario) and brother-in-law Andy Collin (Eyemouth, Scotland). She has a son Jim White, daughter-in-law Susan White and two grand daughters Emily and Sophie White. She has a daughter Jayne Jennings, son-in-law Carl Jennings and a granddaughter Sarah Jennings. She had many friends she cherished throughout her entire life, always with a smile and positive attitude, grateful for her friends and family

The funeral will be Friday September 7th at 10:00am at Graceview Presbyterian Church at 588 Renforth Drive, Etobicoke. There will be a reception/lunch to follow (at a place to be announced).

Jim and Jayne are hoping friends and family can join them to celebrate, share stories and raise a glass to Elsa. She will be laid to rest at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Burlington next to her husband Jim
