Accomplished pianist and music teacher, formerly of Bedford Studios of Hamilton, quietly passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in her 104th year. Evelyn has endeared herself to so many friends, students and caregivers, notably the caring staff of Idlewyld Manor who have been engaged by Evelyn’s humility and attitude of gratitude these several years. Predeceased by her husband Reginald (December 9, 1985), and survived by her nephews Richard and James, Evelyn benefitted from the loving loyalty of Donald and Reinhold and the tremendous care and support of friends through the Music Teachers Association and Ryerson United Church. Visitation will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford), Hamilton, on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 1-2 p.m., with the funeral service to follow in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the C.N.I.B.
