Evelyn Julianna Kotska

Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis Kotska, in 1996. She was the adored mother of Wayne Kotska (Donna - deceased), cherished grandmother of Adam and Rachel (Holly), and proud great-grandmother of Nolan (Adam).

Evelyn shared a very special and loving bond with her niece Linda (Lynn), who was like a daughter to her. Linda lovingly helped care for Evelyn for 11 years, creating a beautiful relationship filled with love, companionship, and treasured memories.

Evelyn was a woman of deep faith and was committed to attending church each week. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church for more than 30 years, where her faith was an important part of her life.

Above all, Evelyn loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed by everyone including those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Evelyn was known for her tremendous love, kindness, and care she showed to her family, friends, and everyone she encountered. She loved life and loved people. She never judged others, and always welcomed people with an open heart.

She had a special love for gathering around the table for a good card game. Whether it was a lively game of euchre with family, a competitive round of Sequence with Lynn, or the high stakes game of chance, Pass the Ace, Evelyn loved the laughter, friendly banter, and togetherness that came with every hand.

Her radiant personality and genuine warmth could light up any room she entered. She beamed with happiness, compassion, and love, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Evelyn held a particularly deep love for the Deaf community and was incredibly proud of and devoted to her son, Wayne, whom she loved dearly.

Evelyn's beautiful spirit, unwavering faith, and unconditional love will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mary, a dear family friend who was a tremendous source of support to Evelyn and to all of us. Mary was not only a wonderful friend that Evelyn adored, she also helped to bridge communication through sign language, keeping family members connected and informed, and always offering her time, kindness, and care. Her support continued after Evelyn’s passing, as she helped our family navigate the difficult days that followed. We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, friendship, and countless ways Mary was there for Evelyn and for our family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to Bob Rumball Camp of the Deaf, a welcoming place for Deaf people and Deaf kids to recognize their community, culture and sign language.

Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington, Ontario.
