

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Ferruccio Turchi on Friday, November 26 2010, at the age of 85. Dear husband of 58 years to Maria Turchi. Loving father of Loren and husband Ersilio Serafini. Cherished grandfather of Dino, Lorenzo and Victoria-Marie Serafini. Ferruccio was born in Ancona, Italy (region of the Marche). He immigrated to Hamilton in 1950 where he married his wife Maria and raised their family. Ferruccio was a loyal retired employee of Dofasco, dedicating 40 years of great service. He had the love of the land, and took pride in nurturing his garden, sharing the fruits of his work with his friends and neighbours. A member of the lawn bowling “bocce” club of Father Sean O’Sullivan Memorial Park. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of the geriatric ward at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King St. E. (at Kenilworth), on Monday from 4-9p.m. Prayer Vigil Monday at 7p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 30 2010, at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mt. Albion Rd., at 10:30a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
